Suzanne Shattuck

Suzanne grew up on a farm during a time when life seemed simple, and people were proud to be an American.

She was a military wife for over 20 years, and the mother of 4 independent children. She is also a registered nurse.

Her nursing background includes the areas of Medical/Surgical, Trauma/Neuro ICU, School Nursing, Endoscopy, and the Emergency Department. She currently works at a community hospital in the ED.

She believes that the training provided by Rugged Reliance will encourage the students to lead a more resilient way of life. These individuals will make a stronger family, community, state, and ultimately country.

Peter

Instructor

Peter grew up on a family farm where he learned to appreciate economy, resourcefulness and ingenuity early in his life. He developed a working knowledge of metal work, construction, agriculture, and the handling and care of farm animals.

Peter spent 8 years in Law Enforcement and SWAT before he moved to the private sector to pursue personal protection and surveillance in Washington D.C. This stateside work eventually transitioned to work overseas.

For five years Peter worked with government agencies providing high-risk diplomatic security in the Middle East from 2003-2008. He continues to work with Department of Defense contractors teaching CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear and HME – Explosives) to specialized military groups.

He has been a small business owner since 2004, offering development, training and implementation of tactical training, PSD (Personal Security Detail) operations, CQB (Close Quarter Battle), firearms, surveillance, and counter surveillance. He continues to remain active as a SWAT member.

Josh Strickler

Instructor

Josh grew up in Augusta County Virginia. He is a husband and a father. He served 8 years in the United States Army and is a combat veteran of the Iraq War, Police Transition Team.

He has twelve years’ experience in law enforcement, and currently serves in this capacity.
